Book Covers
Book covers are where you get to focus entirely on pure visual storytelling. It’s a totally different challenge: distilling an entire narrative into a single illustration. I love experimenting with different illustration styles, layout, and typography to build a cover from scratch that captures the exact mood of the story and pulls the reader in.
On the left is a vector illustration for Essai, a compilation of essays by college students. The theme for these essays was the idea of trying, which I wanted to represent through the visual metaphor of climbing a mountain.
On the right is a personal project, The Girl Who Waited, executed as a digital painting. The goal was to tell a story through mood and posture, showing a girl who patiently waited, never losing hope.

Portraits
These two portraits are a fun peek into my personal creative process. Back when I had a daily train commute, I used that downtime to just play around and keep my skills sharp. I decided to illustrate two of my favorite artists, but in completely different styles. Bob Dylan got the clean, vector treatment, and Chance the Rapper was done as a digital painting. It was a low-pressure way to experiment with technique and turn a boring train ride into a dedicated creative space.

Character Design
To expand my technical toolset, I taught myself Blender in my free time and began experimenting with 3D character design. These two models highlight that exploration: an original robot concept, and a stylized Queen of Hearts. The Queen was specifically developed as a proof-of-concept character for a larger video game project I was conceptualizing based on public domain properties.
